Venom de Pollo (Crock Pot - Shredded Chicken)

Our fresh salsa is the star ingredient in this easy crockpot shredded chicken recipe - a surefire family favorite! Slow cooked to perfection, the chicken pairs beautifully with tacos, nachos, burritos, and more.

Ingredients:

  • 3 pounds Chicken Thighs
  • 16 oz Venom-Más Salsa (for a more mild shredded chicken, substitute with Desperado mild salsa)
  • 2 Limes (juiced)
  • ½ Medium Onion (Minced)
  • 1 TBSP Cumin
  • 1 oz. (3 TBSP) "your favorite" Taco Seasoning
  • 3 TBSP Fresh Cilantro (chopped)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  1. In Crock Pot, mix salsa, lime juice, taco seasoning, cumin, onion, and cilantro.
  2. Salt & Pepper the chicken, then add chicken to the Crock Pot.
  3. Cover and cook (shredding with forks on the last hour of cook):
    • 6-8 hours on Low (preferred)
    • 4 hours on High
