Our fresh salsa is the star ingredient in this easy crockpot shredded chicken recipe - a surefire family favorite! Slow cooked to perfection, the chicken pairs beautifully with tacos, nachos, burritos, and more.
Ingredients:
- 3 pounds Chicken Thighs
- 16 oz Venom-Más Salsa (for a more mild shredded chicken, substitute with Desperado mild salsa)
- 2 Limes (juiced)
- ½ Medium Onion (Minced)
- 1 TBSP Cumin
- 1 oz. (3 TBSP) "your favorite" Taco Seasoning
- 3 TBSP Fresh Cilantro (chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
Steps:
- In Crock Pot, mix salsa, lime juice, taco seasoning, cumin, onion, and cilantro.
- Salt & Pepper the chicken, then add chicken to the Crock Pot.
- Cover and cook (shredding with forks on the last hour of cook):
- 6-8 hours on Low (preferred)
- 4 hours on High
